THE STARTING POINT

FROM PHOTO TO ART
From a single sheet,
a world unfolds.
The story begins with a printing and packaging business in Songgang, Shenzhen, in 1996. Hands-on site work, repeated sample comparisons and the turning point of pursuing a Sony game-console packaging order guide the narrative. A photograph outside the company and early business materials are reinterpreted as a person examining a carton, bringing the focus of those early years together with the business that followed.
Take a closer look
Cubist reconstruction connects the person, paper, packaging and architecture through shared geometric facets. Examining a carton recalls hands-on work; the blue-and-white packaging and circular motifs connect to early console packaging. Blues establish order, while orange and gold mark turning points, bringing early dedication and years of experience into one space.
If this were your story
Begin with early business photographs, a pivotal product or a familiar working pose. Discuss how people, corporate identity and symbolic objects might enter a work for a business milestone or career tribute.
Let this story become part of everyday life.
Let the beginnings and years of building a business become a story you see each day at work.

Details within the painting.

Keeping the focus in the portrait
Glasses, a lowered gaze and a suit are broken into connected light and dark planes, retaining a calm, absorbed focal point.

A carton opens new possibilities
Fingers, blue-and-white packaging and circular patterns form the centre, recalling early products and repeated checks of samples.

Business traces within the picture
YUTO lettering enters the blue structure, with gold and orange facets making corporate identity part of the story.

Paper folds and the painting's edge
Paper rolls, cartons and intersecting planes extend to the wooden frame, giving flat paper a sense of space. Frame styles are agreed individually.
